Police look into a trioof stabbings, a holdup

D.C. police responded to three stabbings and an armed robbery overnight Saturday.

In the first incident, a couple were stabbed around 10:28 p.m. in the 1100 block of K Street SE, said Officer Paul Metcalf, a police spokesman. He said the man and his girlfriend were taken to a hospital for treatment. No arrest has been made.

About 11:47 p.m., a man was stabbed in the 2300 block of Hunter Place SE and taken to a hospital. Police arrested a suspect in the assault.

In another attack, a woman was robbed at gunpoint in the 1800 block of Lamont Street NW around 1:50 a.m. Sunday by two men, police said. According to police, the men approached the woman from behind, brandished a gun and demanded her money and possessions.

The suspects managed to obtain some of her property before fleeing, police said. Metcalf said the woman refused medical attention and that it was unclear whether she suffered any injuries. No arrests have been made.

At 3:50 a.m. Sunday, a woman was found in the 1400 block of W Street NW, suffering from a stab wound. She was conscious and breathing. Police said she was taken to a hospital. No arrests have been made.

Arrest made in Gaithersburg slaying

A 47-year-old woman was found dead in a home in Gaithersburg on Sunday and Montgomery County police said they have arrested and charged a man believed to be her husband.

No names were given, but Capt. Paul Starks, the county police spokesman, said the man was charged on a warrant with murder in the death of the woman.

She was found in the morning in a house in the 18300 block of Hallmark Court.

Few other details about the incident were immediately available, but Starks said it appeared to be domestic in nature. No cause of death had been released.
