Federal agents stop suspect in Metro fight

A U.S. Border Patrol agent and a deputy U.S. marshal, both off duty, joined to stop a suspect Monday after a fight broke out in a Metro train, authorities said.

When the suspect, who apparently had a knife, got off a Yellow Line train at Braddock Road, the two ordered him to the ground and held him for transit police, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said. They said he was charged with possession of cocaine and attempted malicious wounding.

The agent had been on her way home.

As quoted by the agency, she described her role in time-honored law enforcement fashion: “I was just doing my job,” she said. “This is what we train for every day.”
