With sweltering weather forecast for coming days, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) announced Monday that the city’s “spray parks” will remain open for an additional week.

The parks, located in all eight wards of the city, were scheduled to close at 7 p.m on Labor Day. But Bowser decided to keep the parks open in the wake of a National Weather Service report predicting high heat and humidity from Tuesday to Friday.
