Achievement unchanged

Despite the federal government’s push to close achievement gaps and lift achievement overall, scores from a national representative sample of 12th-graders have been stagnant since 2009 in both math and reading. In reading, scores have actually declined since the test was first administered in 1992. The math test is only comparable back to 2005 and there was no significant change since 2009.
