Fairfax County parents may now register their elementary school-aged children for a lottery to enter specialized foreign language programs. The registration for the world language immersion programs for kindergarten and first-grade students will be open until Feb. 14, at 4:30 p.m. Parents will be notified if their children are accepted by late March for first grade and late May for kindergartners.

The immersion programs are offered at elementary schools across the county, including Bailey’s, Lake Anne, London Towne and Rose Hill elementary schools, which offer Spanish for kindergartners. First-grade immersion programs in French, German, Japanese and Spanish are offered at 11 elementary schools.

Information sessions will be offered this month for parents interested in enrolling their children in the immersion programs. Click here to see the calendar of meeting dates.
