Parents in Prince George’s County who want to notify the public school system of the bullying or harassment of a student can now file a report online.

Previously, students, family members and staff could not file a complaint electronically. But school officials are hoping that the new format will allow the school system to track reports better and make the process easier for parents, students and staff.

“We also wanted to make the response time shorter than it has been,” said Max Pugh, a spokesman for the school system. “Enabling them to e-mail us is faster than printing them out and bringing it to the school.”

The school system also has a Web page that offers tips and links to school district resources in dealing with bullying.

The form is available on the Web site. Forms are also still available at all schools in the district.
