Catholic University hosted the annual event, which offers parents the chance to share ways to wrap and carry their babies. An integral part of “attachment parenting,” “babywearing” is a term coined by Dr. William Sears in “The Baby Book,” which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
June 30, 2012 Stephanie Bell, right, helps her friend Laura Nelson with the babywearing wrap for her 20-month-old daughter, Shiloh; Bell’s 20-month-old daughter, Paisley, is on her back in a similar babywearing wrap. The two mothers came to D.C. to attend the 2012 International Babywearing Conference at Catholic University. About 300 people attended the event, which ended on Monday, to talk about different ways to wrap and carry their babies.
