Evacuations were considered for a time Saturday night in the Old Town area of Alexandria after a possible propane leak was reported at a Robinson Terminal facility, the city said.

In an e-mail message, the city said fire fighters were responding to a leak at Robinson Terminal North, on Oronoco street. The site is on the waterfront.

According to the message, precautionary evacuations were being considered within a half mile radius. However, the leak was quickly sealed, according to a later message. It was not necessary to evacuate any residents, the message said.
