Mrs. Joy Butterworth, a 3-year-old spayed mixed-breed dog, is available from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Jacky, a 4-year-old 15-pound neutered miniature pinscher, is available from the Humane Society of Fairfax County.

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter, 4500 West Ox Rd., has animals available for adoption. More animals can be seen at petango.com. Animal viewing and adoption hours are noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The shelter is closed holidays. For information, call 703-830-1100.
