The following incidents were reported by the Animal Control Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Dog bites children: Ritchie Rd., 14900 block, 11 a.m. Nov. 10. A Yorkie mix bit two children at home. The dog was tested for rabies. The children were not seriously injured.

Coatimundi bites worker: Hunter Mill Rd., 1200 block, 6:10 p.m. Nov. 11. A coatimundi at the Reston Zoo bit an employee helping catch the animal for inoculation. Minor injuries were reported.

Fairfax City

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Neglect investigation: Wilmar Pl., NW, 100 block, 1 p.m. Nov 9. Someone reported that a resident might be neglecting animals. Animal control is investigating.

Dead fox found in yard: Johnson St. SW, 300 block, 7 p.m. Nov. 9. A man found a dead fox in his back yard and said his son’s dog might have had contact with the fox. The dog was placed under quarantine. The fox tested negative for rabies, and the dog was removed from quarantine.

Loose pit bulls: Moore Ave. SE, 200 block, 4:11 p.m. Nov. 11. Two pit bulls ran from a yard and aggressively approached a dog being walked by a man. The pit bulls’ owner said her electric fence appeared to be malfunctioning. Animal control will follow up.

Injured deer found: Park St. SE, 1100 block, 5:18 p.m. Nov. 15. Someone reported a severely injured deer in a yard.
