Biting the hand that feeds it: Assembly Dr., 10500 block, Jan. 13. A man, 61, was bitten on the hand by his dog. The dog was placed under observation for 10 days.
Rabies testing required: Old Lee Hwy., 3900 block, Jan. 16. An animal hospital employee was bitten by a sick kitten while it was being euthanized.
No comfort in cold: Charles Dr., 10800 block, Jan. 16. An animal control officer, investigating a report about a barking dog left out in the cold, spoke to an owner, who was told not to leave the dog outdoors for long periods without adequate shelter.
Worker bitten: Park St. SE, 100 block, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11. An employee did not seek treatment after being bitten by a dog while trying to examine the animal. The dog was transferred to another facility for treatment.
Dog had no ID: Ayr Hill Ave. NE, 500 block, 5:50 p.m. Jan. 13. Animal control picked up a stray dog from a woman who was walking her dog.
No help for raccoon: S. Center St., 100 block, 1 p.m. Jan. 16. Animal control got a report about a sick raccoon in a parking lot. Officers determined that it could not be saved.
