Dog hangs out at shelter: Oakwood Dr., 10900 block, afternoon of March 27. A woman tried to grab the leash of a pug mix that was running loose and the dog bit her hand. Animal control found the owner and discovered that the dog did not have a current rabies vaccination. The dog was placed under a 10-day quarantine.

Raccoon dies: Tedrich Blvd., 3900 block, April 2. Animal control picked up an injured raccoon from the back yard of a residence. The animal required euthanasia because of its leg injuries.


The following incident was reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Owner injured in dog fight: Branch and Cabin roads, 3 p.m. March 28. A dog attacked another dog that was being walked by a woman who suffered a minor injury while separating the two animals. An animal control officer located the attacking dog’s owner, who agreed to quarantine the dog at home.
