FAIRFAX COUNTY

The following incidents were reported by the Animal Control Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Dog bites walker: Woodland Way, 4900 block, 3:20 p.m. April 25. A male pedestrian was bitten on the leg by a dog that was being walked by a woman. The man received a minor injury.

Dog bites a boy: Earps Corner Pl., 5400 block, 3:15 p.m. April 26. A juvenile male pedestrian was bitten on the leg by a dog and received a minor injury. A Labradoodle was quarantined.

Dog’s playmate dies: Seneca Green Way, 500 block, 7:50 p.m. April 27. An animal control officer responding to a report found a dead raccoon with a dog. The raccoon tested positive for rabies and the dog was current on its rabies vaccination.

Another dog bites a boy: Library and Market streets, 6:25 p.m. April 27. A boy received a minor injury when he was bitten on the leg by a dog. A Doberman was quarantined.

FAIRFAX CITY

Play time turns sour: Fairfax Sq., 3900 block, April 27. A 19-year-old woman was bitten on the face by a friend’s Siberian husky while playing with it. The dog had a current rabies vaccination and was placed under a quarantine.

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Helpful stranger injured: S. Center St., 200 block, 4:05 p.m. April 24. An employee at Inova Urgent Care called animal control about a man who was treated for a dog bite on the hand but did not provide complete information. An animal control officer spoke to the dog’s owner, who explained that the dog broke free at a store. The man was bitten when he tried to catch the animal.

Touchy dog bites: Park St. SE, 100 block, 1:47 p.m. April 26. An employee was treating a dog when it bit her on the chin. The owner was informed about the quarantine process.

Sensitive cat bites: Park St. SE, 100 block, 6:35 a.m. April 27. An employee was bitten by a cat while attempting to perform a medical procedure. The cat was held for quarantine.

Another cat bites: Park St. SE, 100 block, 10:50 p.m. April 27. An employee reported being bitten by a cat while attempting to perform a medical procedure. The owner agreed to have the cat held for quarantine.
