A beagle bite: Bristow Dr., 7800 block, 3:52 p.m. May 16. A beagle bit a male pedestrian on the lower body. The dog was quarantined.

Double trouble: Blue Aster Cir., 5300 block, 7:34 p.m. May 18. A woman and a child were walking on a sidewalk when an American bulldog bit the child on the hand and the woman on the arm. Both were taken to a hospital and treated for their injuries. An animal control officer impounded the dog, and it was placed under quarantine.

Kitten for the taking: Oak and Main streets, May 17. A woman spoke to a female who was attempting to give away a kitten at a flea market. The woman agreed to take it to animal control, where it will be cared for until it is old enough for adoption.

Too sick to be saved: Old Lee Hwy., 3500 block, May 18. A raccoon that appeared sick wandered onto a golf course. It was captured and taken to the shelter. The animal was euthanized.

Pup gets a little rough: University Dr., 3700 block, May 19. A 5-month-old hound bit a 5-year-old girl while playing. The puppy was quarantined.

Not neighborly: Lakewood Dr. SW, 1100 block, 9:33 a.m. May 18. A woman who was bitten by a neighbor’s dog refused medical treatment. The dog was quarantined.
