Injured while strolling: Wiehle Ave. and N. Shore Dr., 8 a.m. May 30. A Labrador bit a male pedestrian on the arm. The dog was quarantined.

FAIRFAX CITY

Walking the plank: Ranger Rd., 10200 block, June 3. Construction workers found a raccoon inside a dumpster. Animal control advised them to place a ramp for the animal to make its way out.

Batting around: Main St., 15000 block, June 3. Animal control captured a bat that was inside an office building and released it outside. There were no known exposures to humans.

Trapped bird freed: Warwick Ave., 10700 block, May 31. Animal control released a blue jay that was stuck inside an empty rat cage outside a residence.

Vienna

The following incident was reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Cat strikes back: Park St. SE, 100 block, 6 p.m. June 3. A cat bit an employee who was attempting to perform a medical procedure. The cat was released to an Arlington County owner.
