FAIRFAX CITY

The following incident was reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the department’s main page.

Missing for almost two months: Fairfax Blvd., 9800 block, June 30. A stray cat that was found on a highway was examined at an animal hospital and a microchip was discovered. The cat was to be held at the shelter until its owner returns from a trip.

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Escapee caught: Creek Crossing Rd. NE, 400 block, 10:27 a.m. June 28. Animal control responded to a report of a neighbor’s dog that was running loose, captured the pit bull and secured the animal in its yard.

Raccoon refuses treatment: Cherry St. SW, 200 block, 6:39 a.m. July 2. Fire and Rescue personnel assisted animal control to remove a raccoon that was trapped in a dumpster with its head wedged in a hole. Once it was free, the animal ran into the woods.
