FAIRFAX CITY

Back home: Colony Rd., 3600 block, July 27. A hound mix that was loose was taken to the shelter and claimed by its owner.

And back home: Ranger Rd., 10100 block, July 28. A Shih-Tzu that was found loose and wearing Loudoun County tags was taken to the shelter and claimed by a caretaker.

Biting due to illness: Rust Rd., 4100 block, July 24. A ferret bit two employees of the animal hospital while being treated for liver failure. The animal had to be euthanized and was sent for rabies testing. The results were negative.

Vienna

The following incident was reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

No form of ID: Country Club Dr. NE, 900 block, 11:10 a.m. July 27. An animal control officer picked up two dogs that had wandered into the yard of a residence. They were taken to the shelter and were being held as strays.
