FAIRFAX CITY

In search of an owner: Elmont Ct., 10600 block, Aug. 10. A golden retriever was found loose and taken to the shelter. The dog had a microchip with outdated information.

Frightened by nature: Main St. and Locust Lane, Aug. 11. A Shih Tzu was found loose and taken to the shelter. An owner claimed the dog and said that it had escaped during a storm.

Head aches: Jones St., 10700 block, Aug. 14. An officer picked up a squirrel with a head injury and took it to a wildlife veterinarian.

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Dog bites a friend: Park St. NE, 400 block, noon Aug. 6. A dog bit a friend of its owner. An officer informed them about the quarantine process.

Dog bites a relative: Knoll St. NW, 300 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 6. A Labrador bit a family member. The family was informed about the quarantine process.

Escapees corralled: Maple Ave. W., 400 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12. A motel employee reported that three dogs belonging to a guest had escaped from their room and were loose in the parking lot and barking at other guests. An officer captured the dogs and confined them in their room.

The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue will have dogs and cats available for adoption from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Seven Corners PetSmart, 6100 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church. Cats will be available for adoption from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Reston PetSmart, 11860 Spectrum Center, Reston. All the animals are spayed or neutered and vaccinated.
