Dog bites owner: Roberts Rd., 4100 block, Aug. 22. A pit bull bit its owner on the arm and continued to act in an aggressive manner. The dog was taken into custody.

Owner issued a warning: Oxford Lane, 4100 block, Aug. 27. Responding to a report of a dog inside a vehicle, an officer found the owner had arrived and had the air conditioning running.

Runaway sheltered: Old Lee Hwy. and Brookwood Dr., Aug. 26. A Boston terrier was found loose and taken to the shelter.

Climbing aboard? Fairfax Blvd., 9800 block, Aug. 25. A woman found a rat terrier mix loose near the Metro and took it to the shelter.

No one home: Niblick Dr. SE, 500 block, 11:45 p.m. Aug. 25. An officer responding to a report of two dogs barking in the back yard was unable to contact the owners.
