Fordson Ct., 3000 block, 3:15 p.m. May 12. Police were called about a person who was shot. An investigation revealed that person was robbed by an acquaintance. A 25-year-old Alexandria man was charged with robbery, malicious wounding and use of a firearm.

Richmond Hwy., 6800 block, 8:40 a.m. May 14. Two men entered a store and split up. One man reached over the counter and took cigarettes. The other man tried to purchase cigarettes and when the transaction failed, he pushed the clerk and stole the cigarettes.

Layton Hall Dr., 10300 block, May 8. A woman said a stranger used her identifying information to obtain her income-tax refund.

Main St., 10500 block, 8:30 p.m. May 8 to 11:15 a.m. May 9. A messenger bag containing identification, two notebook computers, a hard drive and several notebooks was stolen from a vehicle.
