Four charged in fatal shooting of District Heights man

Four suspects have been arrested in recent weeks in the fatal shooting in November of a District Heights man near the playground of a Prince George’s County apartment complex, county police said.

Marvin Tomlinson, 31, of the 6600 block of Atwood Street was found dead of gunshot wounds shortly after 9:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 2100 block of County Road in District Heights, police said. They said in a statement that detectives “quickly developed” four young people as suspects in the slaying.

Trevon M. Montgomery, 17, of the 3000 block of Brightseat Road in Landover was arrested Nov. 17 and charged as an adult with first-degree murder, police said. Eight days later, Ronald J. Minor, also 17, of the 6900 block of Walker Mill Road in Capitol Heights surrendered to police and was charged with the same offense.

Dominic C. Givens, 20, of the 2500 block of Markham Lane in Landover was arrested Dec. 9 in Raleigh, N.C., and was awaiting extradition, police said. The fourth suspect, Dajaun J. Brooks, 18, of the 3000 block of Branch Avenue in Temple Hills, was arrested Wednesday. Givens and Brooks are charged with first-degree murder.
