Fundraiser to benefit family of Thomas Maslin, man beaten near Eastern Market

A fundraiser will be held Tuesday evening for the family of the man who was attacked and badly beaten near Eastern Market earlier this year.

“Holiday Love for the Maslins” will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tune Inn restaurant and bar on Capitol Hill.

The event will raise funds for the family of Thomas C. Maslin, a 29-year-old solar-energy analyst who was beaten, robbed and found on a front porch in Capitol Hill in August.

Organizers say that money raised will help offset the cost of rehabilitation and caregivers for Maslin. The event will include an auction, raffle and door prizes.
