Georgetown's unearthed remains

The area encompassed by Volta Park was once a large graveyard. By 1907, most of the remains had been removed and the area was converted into a playground. However, it appears that the graveyard may have stretched north of Q Street, as remains continue to be found in recent years. Read related article.
