In a year and a half, Heather R. Mizeur will either be the first female governor of Maryland and the first openly gay candidate to be governor in the nation, or not in politics at all. If she doesn’t prevail, the Takoma Park Democrat is seemingly at ease with the prospect of walking away from the game, altogether.
