Juan Carlos Godoy, 17, of Reston, dies from shooting injuries

A 17-year-old died Sunday from injuries sustained during a shooting Friday morning in Reston, Fairfax County police said.

Detectives were still investigating whether the shooting of Juan Carlos Godoy on the 2200 block of Marginella Drive was an accident, police said in a press release.

But they have charged Javier DeJesus Martinez, 26, with illegal possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, authorities said.

DeJesus was an acquaintance of Godoy’s, police said.
