Laurel man sought, charged with first-degree murder after man hit by SUV

A 27-year-old Laurel man has been charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly struck a man with his SUV.

Antione Kaliph Cauley got into a fight with Matthew Cavin, 24, in the parking lot outside a residence in the 7600 block of South Arbory Lane in Laurel late Friday night, Laurel police said. Witnesses told police that after Cauley hit Cavin, he drove away in his white-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition, with a woman.

Cavin’s body was found lying underneath another vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Cauley fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Laurel Police Department at 301-498-0092.
