Lawyer charged with attacking woman

A Department of Labor lawyer was arrested Wednesday on charges he broke into a woman’s home in Northwest Washington and tried to tase and sexually assault her, officials said.

Authorities charged Paul Mannina, 58, of the Ashton area of Montgomery County with assault with intent to commit first degree sexual assault and burglary while armed, D.C. police said. Investigators said Mannina entered the home in the 2700 block of Chesapeake Street NW on June 5, produced a taser and then attempted to assault the victim, but then fled.

The victim knew the attacker, police said.
