Man arrested in Pr. George’s December fatal shooting

A man has been arrested and charged in a December fatal shooting in Lewisdale, according to the Prince George’s County sheriff’s office.

Deputies on Monday arrested Luis Carlos Guzman-Ventura, who is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of 14-year-old Eliezer Reyes.

Reyes was killed in a December 5 drive-by shooting, authorities said. Another man was wounded.

Authorities said an investigation led them to a residence in Petersburg, VA, and that Guzman-Ventura was arrested as he tried to escape out a back door.

Guzman-Ventura also has been charged as a fugitive from Prince George’s County, attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He has been taken to the Chesterfield County Police Department, police confirmed.
