A man died Tuesday afternoon at the Pentagon Metro station after suffering a cardiac arrest on a train, according to the Arlington County Fire Department.

Crews responded to a call from Metro Transit police at 4:14 p.m., said Capt. Justin Tirelli, a fire department spokesman. Medics pronounced the man dead at the station.

The man’s identity was not immediately available. Tirelli said Metro Transit police are handling the incident.

Dan Stessel, a Metro spokesman, said authorities do not suspect foul play.

The emergency prompted delays on the Blue and Yellow lines, and about an hour of single-tracking trains.
