Man dies after St. Mary’s fire

A man died Tuesday after being found unconscious after a fire in a house in St. Mary’s County, Md., authorities said.

David R. Allen,55, was found around 4 a.m. in a house on Sotterly Road in Hollywood, the office of the state fire marshal said.

The fire marshal’s office said he was found near the laundry room of a two- story house. He was taken to the Medstar Washington Hospital Center, where he later died.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the fire marshal’s office said.
