Man found dead in Clinton was hit by car, according to police

A man found dead along a road in Clinton early Saturday was struck by a hit-and-run driver, according to Prince George’s County police.

Officer Harry Bond, a department spokesman, said police found the man about 2:30 a.m. at Kirby Road and Marwood Drive, near the Joint Base Andrews military facility.

Bond said the man was lying on the side of the road and was pronounced dead on the scene. He said a preliminary investigation showed that the victim had been struck by a vehicle.

Police identified the victim as Eric Derron Bridgett, 27. They said preliminary investigation indicated that he was trying to cross Kirby Road when he was hit.
