Man found dead in Herndon creek identified

Herndon police said Sunday that they have identified the body of a man found dead in a creek Friday morning. He is Damien Patrick Scanlan, 30.

A neighbor saw Scanlan’s body in a creek near the corner of Center and Locust streets, at about 8 a.m. Friday, and called police. Police said they do not suspect foul play and are asking residents for information about the Scanlan’s final hours.

Anyone who saw Scanlan on Thursday night or noticed any unusual activity in the area where Scanlan died is asked to call 703-435-2990.
