Man found dead in Leesburg home; police charge wife

by Peter Hermann and Martin Weil

A 63-year-old man was found dead Saturday in his home in Leesburg, and his wife was charged in his death, Leesburg police said.

They said Dae Hwang, 57, was charged with murder in the death of Kyung Hwang, who was found in a house on Chickasaw Place NE.

Lt. Jeff Dube, a police spokesman, said the cause of death is under investigation.

The homicide was the town’s first this year. Leesburg, with about 40,000 residents, is the county seat of Loudoun County, where homicides are generally few.

One homicide was reported last year in Leesburg.

In that case, police said a 20-year-old woman was found drowned in a house in October. Her boyfriend, a suspect, later hanged himself from a tree at the Goose Neck Golf Course, police said.
