Man injured in early morning shooting in Germantown

A man was shot around 1:30 a.m. Monday at a home in the 17400 block of Onax Drive in Germantown, police said.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a hospital. Capt. Jim Daly, a police spokesman, said the shooting victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive. Daly said the parties involved appear to know each other.

“We don’t think this was a random act in any way,” Daly said.

Police tape blocked off Onax Drive on Monday afternoon as officers continued their investigation and interviewed neighbors. The neighborhood was quiet. Several neighbors who were interviewed said they had heard no gunshots and that they had no idea what had happened or who was involved.

No arrests have been made, and authorities released no other information about a suspect or a motive in the shooting.

Dan Morse contributed to this report.
