Man killed in robbery in Southeast D.C.

A 36-year-old man was robbed and shot to death Friday morning in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

Police said the shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of 18th Street SE, just off Minnesota Avenue. Police said the victim was sitting in a car when three men approached and demanded money.

The assailants took an unknown amount of money and then shot the victim, according to police. The man died a short time later at an area hospital.

Police have not identified the victim pending notification of relatives.
