Traffic and parking

In the District, city parking is not enforced and rush hour restrictions are lifted.

In Maryland, there are no parking meter fees Montgomery County and no parking enforcement in Prince George’s County except for the New Carrolton Garage, National Harbor and the Department of Corrections.

In Virginia, HOV restrictions lifted on I-66 and I-395. Parking meters are not enforced in Arlington County.

Trash and recycling

In the District, no pick-ups. Collections slide one day to the end of the week. Transfer station closed.

In Maryland, regular trash pick-up in Anne Arundel, Howard and Prince George’s counties. Collections slide one day to the end of the week in Montgomery County. Landfills are open except in Anne Arundel County. The Montgomery County transfer station is closed.

In Virginia, regular pickups in Fairfax and Arlington counties. No collections in Fairfax City and the City of Alexandria. Landfills open.

Liquor stores

Open at owner’s discretion in the District and Maryland. ABC stores open in Virginia.

Transportation services

Metrorail is on a Saturday schedule with off-peak fares from 5 a.m. to midnight and free parking at Metro lots. Metrobus is on a Saturday supplemental schedule. MetroAccess has regular service but subscription calls are canceled. For information, go to

DASH runs on a Saturday schedule.

CUE runs on a modified weekday schedule.

Fairfax Connector runs on a holiday weekday schedule.

ART runs routes 41, 42, 51, 77 and 87 only on a Saturday schedule.

The Bus has regular service.

PRTC Omniride runs on a modified holiday schedule with regular service for the local and Cross County Connector routes.

Loudoun Bus has limited service.

VRE runs on its S schedule.

MARC is running the Penn Line only on a Sunday schedule.

MTA Commuter Bus is running Route 201 only on a weekday/holiday schedule.
