A 45-year-old Maryland woman was arrested Friday and charged with giving marijuana to three teenagers at a birthday party, and trying to teach a 6-year-old how to smoke the drug.
Sheriff’s deputies in St. Mary’s County said they were called to the home on Tree Top Road in Lexington Park around 1:30 p.m. after receiving a report that a woman had provided marijuana to three teenagers at a birthday party held at her home.
When they arrived, the deputies said Tabitha A. Cassidy told them that she had provided the children with the drug. Authorities also said Cassidy had attempted to teach a 6-year-old child how to smoke marijuana.
Deputies searched Cassidy’s home and found multiple smoking devices and suspected marijuana. Cassidy was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and four counts each of child abuse and contributing to delinquency of a minor. She is being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center on a $7,500 bond.
