Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler (D) on Thursday picked up an endorsement of his gubernatorial bid from the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association.

“The attorney general’s record on both public safety and serving minority communities is unparalleled in the state of Maryland,” Joe Perez, the organization’s president, said in a statement. “We are delighted to give him our full support.”

The association seeks to advance the interests of the Latino community within the law enforcement profession.

Gansler faces Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown and Del. Heather R. Mizeur (Montgomery) in Maryland’s June Democratic gubernatorial primary.
