Doggy doppelganger? Catalpa Ct., 17000 block, Derwood, Aug. 30. After a resident called animal services about a neighbor’s white pit bull running loose and chasing pedestrians, an officer went to the address of the dog’s owner. The officer saw the canine inside and addressed the complaint, but the owner said the pit bull had been inside at the time. The officer reported his findings to the caller.

Squirrel in a wheel conundrum: Highland Hall Dr., 20700 block, Montgomery Village, Aug. 29. A squirrel was reported to be stuck in the spokes of a bicycle tire. The animal managed to wriggle free and run away, apparently unharmed, before an animal services officer arrived.

Animal Services Division holds rabies clinic: Montgomery County Animal Services Division will host a rabies clinic 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, 14645 Rothgeb Dr., Rockville. Dogs and cats in the county older than 4 months must be vaccinated and licensed. Dogs must be leashed, and cats and ferrets must be kept inside carriers. For information, call 240-773-5925.
