Mooove over: Poolesville, Whites Ferry and Sugarland roads, Sept. 26. Responding to a report of six cows in a roadway, animal services arrived to find that police had the situation under control. Animal services located the owner, who was unaware of a problem with a fence. The cows were corralled into a pasture, and the fence was repaired.

Loose dog needs to be reined in: Rockville, Manorvale Rd., 14200 block, Sept. 26. Responding to a report of a pet that frequently ran loose, an animal services officer met with the owner of a small terrier-type dog. The owner said the pet was in the habit of escaping, and the officer warned him of infractions that could result in fines. The owner said he would take corrective measures.
