Fawn falls into window well: Stanhope Rd., 9500 block, Kensington, Feb. 12. A homeowner called animal services to report a fawn that had fallen into a basement widow well at the residence. A Humane Society field agent responded and rescued the animal. After determining the fawn was not sick or injured, it was released and scampered away. It was unclear how the fawn had fallen in to the window well.

Shih Tzu owner was almost scot-free: Club Lake Rd., 19650 block, Montgomery Village, Feb. 12. While en route to another call, an animal services investigator saw a small dog running loose. For the animal’s safety, the Shih Tzu was placed in the officer’s van while he searched for the dog’s owner. The owner said they were unaware the dog was loose. Although he did not issue a citation for the dog being loose, the officer issued a citation for failure to have a current rabies vaccination, which carries a $500 fine.
