Apple Ridge Pl., 10100 block, 3:15 p.m. Feb. 22. A teenager armed with a weapon tried to carjack a taxi. A 14-year-old Montgomery Village male was arrested.

ASSAULTS

Chapman Ave., 1700 block, 2:40 to 2:45 p.m. March 2. Five males, ages 11 to 14, were arrested for attempted second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault. Two were also charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

ROBBERIES

Rockville Pike, 1400 block, 7:35 to 7:40 p.m. March 1. A masked man entered a business, approached a register and implied he had a gun. He demanded cash, and the clerk and a co-worker fled to a back office and called police. The man fled empty-handed.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Adams St. N., 200 block, 11:59 p.m. March 1 to 9 a.m. March 2. An iPad and prescription medication were stolen from a vehicle.

Alsace Lane, unit block, Feb. 21. A 19-year-old man was arrested for first-degree burglary.

Brice Rd., 100 block, 11:30 to 11:50 a.m. Feb. 28. Several items of jewelry were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked side basement door.

Crawford Dr., 1300 block, midnight to 8 a.m. Feb. 22. Several kitchen appliances were stolen from a residence that was being renovated.

Pinewood Rd., 500 block, 7 a.m. Feb. 28 to 5:26 p.m. March 1. A male reported a camera and an iPod were stolen from his room at a residence.

Redland Blvd., 400 block, 4:46 to 5:28 p.m. Feb. 27. A 32-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting.

Washington St. N., 400 block, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 28. A Global Positioning System unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

VANDALISM

Fallsgrove Dr., 700 block, 1:30 to 2 a.m. Feb. 26. A 26-year-old man was arrested for destruction of property.

ASSAULTS

Flower Ave., 8600 block, 3:48 a.m. March 3. A male assaulted a male and a female during an argument.

Holly Ave., 7500 block, 4:20 p.m. March 4. Two female youths assaulted a female youth at a school when an argument escalated.

WEAPONS OFFENSES

New Hampshire Ave., 6500 block, 6:56 p.m. March 4. A 30-year-old man was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, transporting a firearm in a vehicle, use of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in drug trafficking and related charges.

ROBBERIES

Kennewick Ave., 7800 block, 3:31 p.m. March 6. Three males forced their way into a person’s apartment, assaulted him and fled with his shoes. Three male, ages 14, 15 and 16, were arrested and charged with armed robbery, first-degree burglary, theft under $500, and second-degree assault.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cedar Ave., 7200 block, 8:15 p.m. March 4. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

Lockney Ave., 8100 block, 6:45 p.m. March 2. A residence was entered by force.

University Blvd., 1300 block, 10:10 p.m. March 1. A 32-year-old woman was arrested for prescription fraud.

University Blvd., 1300 block, 4:30 a.m. March 3. A 31-year-old man was arrested for theft under $100, trespassing and destruction of property.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Carroll Ave., 7600 block, 10:12 a.m. March 4. A white 2010 Toyota Tacoma was stolen from a parking lot after the keys were taken from a valet podium.

Holly Ave., 7400 block, 6:27 a.m. March 7. A red Dodge Caravan was stolen from the owner’s driveway. The vehicle was recovered later in the District.
