Multiple-car crash on I-270 injures two people, snarls traffic

A multiple-car collision on northbound Interstate 270 near Montrose Road on Sunday afternoon left two people injured and several lanes of traffic closed.

Three cars were involved in the early afternoon collision, Maryland state police said, and as of 2:30 p.m., two lanes on the busy highway were still closed, snarling traffic.

Two people suffered injuries, which were not life-threatening, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Scott Graham. The injured were taken to local hospitals.
