As the president is scaling down U.S. troop presence around the world, some families are still facing the cycle of deployment, return and deployment. At a celebration send-off on Jan. 5, about 80 members of the D.C. National Guard’s 273rd Military Police Company prepared for their deployment to Afghanistan.
