Bonnie L. Blanchetti, bank employee

Bonnie L. Blanchetti, 72, who worked for Washington area banks for more than four decades, died May 6 at her home in Springfield.

She had a heart attack, her son Randall Blanchetti said.

Mrs. Blanchetti began her career at First Virginia Bank and rose from teller to executive secretary during 38 years with that institution. She later was an executive secretary at the Potomac Bank of Virginia and the Business Bank, from which she retired last year.

Bonnie Lee Cruickshank was born in Johnstown, Pa., and moved to the Washington area in the early 1960s.

Her husband of 42 years, Charles “Pete” Blanchetti, died in 2000. Survivors include two sons, William Blanchetti of Fork Union, Va., and Randall Blanchetti of Richmond; two sisters; and seven grandchildren.
