Catherine M. Brady, 93, the co-founder and retired vice president of the Robert J. Brady Co., a Maryland publishing business specializing in audio-visual programs, died Jan. 29 at her home in College Park.

The cause was complications from cancer. Her son, Mark E. Brady, confirmed the death.

Mrs. Brady and her husband, Robert J. Brady, founded their business in the early 1950s in Washington and later relocated it to Bowie. The operation was sold to the publishing company Prentice Hall in 1968, and Mrs. Brady continued working there until retiring in 1981. Her specialties included strategic planning, product development and marketing.

Catherine Mary Clancy Brady was born in New York City. She moved to the Washington area in the 1940s and had lived in College Park for 60 years.

Her husband of 50 years, Robert J. Brady, died in 1992. Survivors include nine children, Rita Bogley of Bowie, Robert J. Brady Jr. of Glenn Dale, Mary Hulefeld of Covington, Ky., Rick Brady of Riva, Cathy Copertino of Annapolis, Kevin Brady of West River, and Terry Brady-Novak, Claire Brady and Mark Brady, all of College Park; 29 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
