Dina M. Maltagliati, 86, who did secretarial work for the Interior Department for more than three decades, died Dec. 1 at the Fairland Center, a nursing facility in Silver Spring.
She had respiratory failure, said her niece Julie Maltagliati.
In addition to her work at the Interior Department, Ms. Maltagliati was a White House secretary during the administration of John F. Kennedy, her niece said. She retired from the government in the late 1980s.
Dina Marie Maltagliati was born in the District. She graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy in 1944 and from Dunbarton College of the Holy Cross in 1948. Both schools were in the District and are now closed.
She belonged to Catholic organizations that included the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament church in Washington, the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and the Sodality of Our Lady. She also attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beltsville.
Survivors include a brother.
