Dwight W. Harvey, business treasurer

Dwight W. Harvey, 96, who retired in 1984 as secretary and treasurer of Joseph M. Catalano Co., an electrical equipment and lighting store in Falls Church, died Dec. 8 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He had pneumonia, said his son Stuart Harvey.

Mr. Harvey had worked at the store for nearly three decades. He had previously been an accountant at Dominion Electric Supply.

Dwight William Harvey was born in Sidney, N.Y. During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe and the Pacific. He settled in the Washington area after receiving a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Denver in 1950.

Mr. Harvey did volunteer work with SCORE, a nonprofit mentoring association for small businesses. He was a former Vienna resident and lived in Frederick at the time of his death.

His wife of 59 years, Eve Glazer Harvey, died in 2005. Survivors include two sons, Stuart Harvey of Frederick and Orin Harvey of Goldsboro, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
