Eleanor V. DeAngelis, an artist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for nearly 30 years until retiring in 1979, died Feb. 8 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. She was 96.
The cause was congestive heart failure, said a nephew, Michael Isbell.
Eleanor Virginia Isbell was a native Washingtonian and a 1936 graduate of Roosevelt High School. She attended George Washington University. She was an Arlington resident.
She was a member of the Columbian Women of George Washington University, a nonprofit organization that provides tuition assistance to women who attend the university.
Her husband, Vincent J. DeAngelis, whom she married in 1941, died in 1980. She had no immediate survivors.
