J. Michael Moore, senior program manager

J. Michael Moore, 50, a senior program manager at the Oracle information technology firm, died March 20 at his home in Haymarket.

He had a heart attack, said his wife, Laura Moore.

Mr. Moore had worked at Oracle since 2009. He managed the firm’s center for cybersecurity and oversaw projects involving international and national security.

He had previously worked for seven years at Lockheed Martin as a senior program manager, and his projects included an identification program for the FBI. Before joining the private sector, Mr. Moore worked at NASA on the Earth Observing System

John Michael Moore name was born in Columbia, S.C. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from George Mason University in 1985 and a master’s degree in computer science from George Washington University in 1992.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Laura Heinzelmann Moore, and two children, Steven Moore and Katelyn Moore, all of Haymarket; his parents, James Moore and Phyllis Murray Moore of Johnson City, Tenn.; and a sister.
